In-Depth Interview with Aric Christensen about the Selection of REMIC LB Live models for the Colorado Symphony
In 2022, Aric Christensen, Head of Audio, Colorado Symphony reached out to REMIC MICROPHONES. He needed a new close miking solution for the orchestra. After a detailed test, he selected the REMIC LB Live microphones for the string sections of the orchestra. Almost a year after the purchase of the REMICs, we had the chance to interview Aric about his experience with the REMIC LB Live microphones.
In this interview, Aric Christensen explains the challenges he faced with amplification of the string sections of the orchestra and how he has solved these by using the REMIC LB Live microphones for shows in which the orchestra collaborates with rock or pop artists. The video includes his in-depth explanation of how he tested the REMIC LB Live models and compared them to other solutions. Aspects such as isolation against bleed from neighbor instruments, ambient noise, wind and feedback suppression are discussed.
It is also explained how the REMIC LB Live models have made different types of live productions that involve rock, pop and crossover collaborations with artists from other genres much easier, when it comes to balancing the orchestra’s string section with electronic instruments on stage.

The REMIC LB Live models are designed for loud live performances within the genres rock, folk rock, pop, metal and orchestral crossover. The REMIC LB Live models for string instruments allow for an astonishingly high gain before feedback and superior suppression of neighbor instruments and ambient noise.
